Deploying Machine-Learning based Anomaly Detection For Embedded Mixed-Criticality Systems: a Feedback

In this presentation, we propose to evaluate the deployability of machine-learning based HIDS (Host Intrusion Detection Systems) into an embedded mixed-criticality sytems (MCS). For this, we develop an online monitoring framework on an industrial embedded MCS platform to detect anomalies tracing hardware performance counters and analyzing the traces with a Long Short Term Memory neural network. We implement our machine-learning based ADS on SYSGO’s real-time OS PikeOS to support real-time critical deployment use-cases. We evaluate the feasibility for deploying such machine learning based anomaly detection frame- work in embedded systems, leveraging three applications from TaCLeBench benchmarks.

Le Contrôle qualité non destructif est un domaine à enjeu considérable pour de nombreux secteurs industriels tel que l’automobile, mécanique, transport, électronique, pharmaceutique notamment. Notre objectif est de développer des systèmes robustes, autonomes et plug and play, comme la caméra Caiman, un capteur de vision intelligent basé sur un modèle de réseaux de neurones dit « bio-inspiré ».

Grâce à sa conception inspirée du fonctionnement du cerveau, le traitement des données embarquées dans la caméra concerne essentiellement les informations saillantes contenues dans l’image grâce à l’IA. La quantité de données à traiter est divisée par dix en comparaison avec les solutions classiques. La spécificité de l’approche présentée réside en sa capacité à détecter les anomalies sans avoir besoin de base de données, de « défauthèques » à alimenter en permanence pour chaque objet, ou de surface à contrôler.
